Dirt Series by Rocky Mountain Bicycles Mid-Season Report

July 4, 2008 – It’s crazy to think that we’re over half way through our 2008 season. From our mid-April start in the snow in North Vancouver, to the 35 degree long weekend we just had here in Whistler, we’ve fit in eleven different camps, taught over five hundred participants, and traveled through two provinces and three states. There’s definitely truth to the saying that time flies when you’re having fun.

Next up on our schedule are two sold-out camps in Oregon — one in Bend and one in Hood River — and then our third Whistler camp of the season, but the first that’s co-ed. Right now there are about half a dozen spots still open in it, so if you’re wanting to get in on some world class instruction in one of the best places around, make your plans soon.

Actually, if you need extra incentive to make mountain bike camp plans of any sort, check this out: Adidas eyewear Dirt Series sponsor and purveyor of some of the most technically advanced glasses and goggles around, has given us two extra pair to award to Dirt Series participants.

One will go to a Dirt Series participant who signs up for any camp anytime before July 15, and who includes the name of the adidas eyewear model they’d most like in the comments field of their registration form.

The other will go to a Dirt Series participant who has already signed up for a camp this season, and who simply sends us an email register@dirtseries.com with the date and location of their camp, and the name of the adidas eyewear model they’d most like. We’ll then draw for both of these on July 15, and voila, two winners. Click here to check out the Adidas Eyewear catalogue.

Speaking of winners, everyone who has bought a Rocky Mountain this year seems to feel like one, or at least is inspired enough to write glowing emails about the performance of their new bike. If you want to get in on that fun, and would like a gift certificate good for $300 off the retail price, email in and we’ll set you up. The same holds true if you’d like to demo an Element, ETSX, Slayer SXC, Slayer SS, or Flatline at any of our upcoming camps. E-mail us at register@dirtseries.com, and we’ll get that organized for you too.

For a full schedule of upcoming camps, including our first-ever camp at Kicking Horse Resort in Golden, a Whistler camp in conjunction with the crankworx mountain bike festival, our annual installment with Rebound Cycle in Canmore, and a specialty camp complete with heli drop at Mike Wiegele’s in Blue River, BC, check out the calendar on our website www.dirtseries.com.

That’s it for now. All the best for an incredible summer,

Candace, Vicki, and the Dirt Series crew.
