Dionne Still In Limbo

May 24, 2006 — Canadian’s Charles Dionne is still in limbo regarding news from Spanish doctors about his left leg, and knowing if he will ride for Team Canada at the fast approaching Tour de Beauce.

“It’s certainly one of the more difficult times of my life,” said Dionne in a recent article in Quebec City’s Le Soleil. Dionne who is racing for the European pro team Saunier Duval-Prodir added, “I’m at exactly the same point as I was in February. I saw the Spanish team doctors April 24th, and nothing has happened. I am supposed see more specialists Thursday and Friday (in Canada) and I can’t wait to know what is going on.”

The Tour de France may be just a dream for the 2006 season, but the Tour de Beauce is now hanging in the balance for Dionne. “Beauce was on my racing calender before I became injured. I think I can get back into shape by mid-June in time to do Beauce – I’d give anything to do it.”

More details are available in Wednesday’s Le Soleil. http://www.geocities.com/velonouvelle/art/6/5mai/Soleil24.html
