August 1, 2006 – The Quebec Cycling Federation is proud to present one of Quebec’s major mountain biking events: the DEVINCI Quebec Championships, which will take place in the Outaouais region from August 4-6.
In cross country, big names like Quebec City’s Marie-Hélène Prémont (Rocky Mountain-Business Objects) and Raphael Gagne (Rocky Mountain-Business Objects) from Beauport will be competing. The championship is a key determinant in provincial team selection for the 2007 season.
Fighting for the junior title will be several names, including Charles Alexandre Dubé (Giant), fresh off a third-place finish at the recent Canadian DH Championships in Whistler, B.C. as well as Dominick Ménard (Devinci-Daredevil), 8th in Whistler, and Hans Lambert (Equipe du Quebec/Iro), who’ll race in Canada’s colours at the upcoming World Junior Championships.
The Quebec Championships are part of the DEVINCI Quebec Cup, which includes over 10 races. More than 450 athletes are expected to compete in cross country, along with more than 150 in downhill.
