Detour Publications Launches Urban Source

March 17, 2003 (Toronto, ON) – Your'e Invited!! On Thursday, April 3, 2003 at 7:00 PM, Detour Publications will be launching Urban Source, a new and novel multi-media distribution partnership with the York University Bookstore. The partnership's intent is to increase awareness and action of citizens in Toronto and beyond through books and other resources that focus on sustainable transportation, urban planning, climate change and other urban issues.

To unveil this unique relationship, we have invited a number of dynamic individuals to speak for a few minutes about what books made a real difference to their views, love and interest of Toronto and other urban areas they've lived in. As of today, confirmed speakers include John Barber (Globe and Mail), Gerda Werkele (York University), Debbie Field (FoodShare), Allan Sparrow (former Toronto councillor), Margrit Eichler (author of Change of Plans), David Lewis Stein (Toronto Star), Wayne Roberts (author of Get a Life! and Real Food for a Change), and Terry Fowler (York University).

The launch of Detour's Urban Source takes place at The Victory Café, 581 Markham Street (1 block west of Bathurst, 1 short block south of Bloor). Speakers will take the stage at 7:15 PM and books will be available for purchase via the new and improved Detour website or traditional cash and carry. We look forward to seeing you there!
