March 7, 2005 – Despite doing battle with 10 members of the TIAA-CREF squad, Scott Moninger of the Health Net Pro cycling Team Presented by Maxxis still managed a second place to TIAA-CREF’s Will Frischkorn in the Denver Federal Center Criterium Sunday. Moninger was able to join a six-rider break that included Frischkorn and his teammate Chad Hartley (who finished third). “I was pretty happy to get in a break of six with only two of them,” Moninger said. He and Frischkorn rode away late, but as Moninger noted, “I had to ride pretty hard to stay away and didn’t have much of a sprint left after that.”
