January 24, 2007 — Hey Pedal Mag Viewers! Just wanted to say thanks for voting me 2006 Canadian DH cyclist of year. There is a great group of Canadian DH racers out there, men and women, and it is seriously a honour to be considered a stand out, let alone a part of that group.

There are so many great racers that have come and gone, and many on the way up. My hat is off to all of you. Particular congrats to a few of my DH friends on their accomplishment in 2006:

– Adrienne Miller and her Canada Cup wins and overall title and her top ten finish at the MSA World Cup
– Claire Buchar and her top ten finish at the Vigo World Cup and her overall World Cup ranking of 13th – that’s got to be a Canadian best for awhile!
– Luke and his second consecutive Canada Cup title.

To everyone else out there that races: keep it up! We all do this for the love of it, never forget that, but it is also us that keep our sport alive. As I have become more aware of this fact it is my intention to make this my focus for my future seasons.
