November 6, 2008 – Cyprus Sunshine Cup in 2009 offers four rounds between 22nd of February and 15th of March. Well known races at Tochni, Voroklini and Afxentia stage race are in pool as well as a attractive new one at Amathous.

The Cyprus Sunshine Cup kicks off again with point to point race between Tochni and Kalavasos.

The Afxentia stage race again offers three stages with time trial, point to point and cross country race. But in 2009 the competition follows the new UCI rule, which puts stage races again into the cross country ranking. So Afxentia is registered as UCI stage race.

This is followed by a new location, Amathous, which looks like it will be a very attractive one. An interesting course with demanding sections and scenic views will challenge the riders.

The final race, as the years before, is hosted in Voroklini. All the races are ranked UCI C1.

“I think we can again offer a very good package and I’m glad to present a new location. I reckon with a lot of pro riders using the races as an important part of their preparation for the World Cup season”, organizer Michalis Hadijoannou explains.
