January 27, 2008 (Treviso, Italy) – Lars Boom (Ned) took the rainbow stripes in Treviso, Italy today, winning the Elite Men’s World Cyclocross Championship race. Boom beat Zdenek Stybar (Cze) and Sven Nys (Bel), who placed second and third, respectively, to the podium. Three Canadians participated in the event: National Champ Mike Garrigan (ON) finished 48th, Aaron Schooler (AB) was 56th and Osmond Bakker (ON) placed 59th.
