Cyclo-Cross Nationals Rule Change

October 23, 2004 – The Canadian Cycling Association (CCA) wants to clarify the rule 5.1.001 regarding the participation to UCI cyclo-cross events.

“The category to which the license-holder belongs on 1 January of the civil year following will be used for his participation in events for the whole season”.

We need to understand by this rule that a person who wants to participate in the 2004 National Championship will have to register in the category that he/she will compete in the 2005 season.

Eg: A person who is 18 years of age in 2004, will be a U23 in 2005 since he/she will have 19 years old. So, for the 2004 cyclo-cross National Championship, that person will need to register as an U23.
