The Paris-Ancaster has taken place for the past nineteen years over the roughest farm lanes, trails and gravel roads we can find. Combined with unpredictable spring weather and the largest field of riders assembled in Canada, it has become a classic race experience for everyone from average riders to Canadian Olympians.
For its 20th year, the Paris to Ancaster is offering a revised 70km course from Paris to Ancaster, Ontario, and a 40km course from The St. George to Ancaster.
Paris-Ancaster is a historic early-season classic in Canada and has hosted many notable names, like the legendary Alison Sydor and pro crossers like American Jeremy Powers and British star Helen Wyman. Mike Garrigan and Aaron Schooler, representing Canada at the World Cyclocross Championships in Louisville this February, have also contested the event.
There is also the option to register for the new Olympic experience VIP package that includes great seeding, meeting with current and former Canadian mountain bike, road and track Olympians before and after the race, as well as starting alongside some of the stars of Canadian cycling from the past 40 years – book early registration as limited VIP package spaces are available.
After winning in 2009, Powers said: “That was a great day on the bike, a unique race for sure!”
