Cycling BC Youth Winter Camp Day 2 & 3 Report

release by Cycling BC

December 30, 2010 (Burnaby, BC) – The final two days of the Cycling BC Youth Camp were held at the Burnaby Velodrome. Plenty of sessions were on the schedule for the thirty riders in attendance, both on and off the bike. Each group took part in a physically demanding resistance training session, learning how to properly perform basic body movements. Riders also took part in a number of track riding sessions where they were able to learn valuable skills, including the crowd favourite madison sling. Each session ended with exciting scratch and elimination races.

Riders were also treated to a couple of guest speakers including Cycling BC Head Coach Richard Wooles, and National Track Team member Zach Bell. Bell was on hand with his Commonwealth Games medal from Delhi this past summer, and was happy to take plenty of questions from the excited riders.

A special thank you to the volunteer coaches who helped make the Winter Camp a success and a stepping stone to take cycling in British Columbia to new levels.
