Cycling BC Santa Rosa Camp Report – Final Day

release by Cycling BC

March 4, 2011 (Santa Rosa, CA) – The final day of the Cycling BC Elite Women’s/U23 Men’s camp was a fitting way to end a great sixteen day training adventure. We awoke to brilliant sunshine and started out on a rider’s choice loop through meandering, rolling, countryside speckled with vineyards and small villages. About 60 kilometres north of Santa Rosa the group tackled the main obstacle for the day, Rockpile Road.

The group was now on a route unfamiliar to them and in the end it turned out to be one of the most picturesque roads we had ridden over our entire stay. The pavement was excellent and a total of 4 vehicles were seen over the course of the climb and subsequent descent. The group finished up at the end of the climb 20 arduous kilometres later and started the return trip home where a final team dinner finished off the day. A very large thanks to all the supporters and sponsors of Cycling BC who help make this program happen.
