October 17, 2009 (Vancouver, BC) – Cycling BC is calling all graphic designers to redesign its logo. The winner will be paid a design fee for rebranding the province’s cycling association with a modern, cutting edge logo. Cycling BC would like the graphic image to represent the cycling disciplines of British Columbia – BMX, cyclo-cross, cross-country and downhill mountain biking, road and track cycling.

New Logo Elements
We want a dynamic, 21st century logo that may or may not include:
– Cog
– Wheel
– Rider
– Mountains
– Ocean
(symbols of cycling in Western Canada)

Old Logo Problems
Our old logo was a staid, boring and static representation of the BC mountains, a BC cyclist and the Pacific waves! It needs a complete overhaul and update! Our newer logos have gone green, but aren’t 21st century! We’d like to see a redesign like the Toronto Blue Jays redesign.

NEW Logo Usage
The NEW logo must be formatted for our website, print materials and clothing. The colours should be 3-4 maximum. We like the idea of the graphic image being eco-friendly or respresent a going green organization. Please submit a print file format CyclingBC.ai (CMYK), web file format CyclingBC.jpg and photoshop document, layered CyclingBC.psd (RGB). And don’t use any stock images or clip art in the logo! GOOD LUCK. Help us get into the 21st Century with a new brand for 2010!
