March 02, 2012 (Vancouver, BC) – Here is the latest high performance news from the Cycling BC offices, including information about Cycling BC’s school programs and reports from recent Provincial BMX and Downhill training camps.
School Programs Expanding

Our Latest school program saw multiple PE Classes at King David School put to the test on the Wattbikes where students raced each other over a 200m distance. Along with a speech from Cycling BC leaders and on-bike skills course, the students were keen to get onto their own bikes more.

Provincial BMX Camp in Abbostford – January 21-22
Nationally ranked racers and development riders were able to get out of the snow for a weekend of training at the Indoor track in Abbotsford. Riders were put through multiple skills sessions with National Coach Adam Muys, working on their starts, manualing through rhythm sections, high jump, and many more. The Wattbikes were brought to the track and riders would step off their bikes throughout the day for peak power testing with Cycling BC, gaining valuable results to work with throughout the season.
Provincial Downhill Camp in Whistler – January 14-15
The Provincial Downhill Team got together for their 2nd winter training camp, this time in Whistler. Riders were able to utilize the state of the art Pacific Sport training facility for their fitness training and workshops. The riders put the Wattbikes to the test again, showing lots of improvement from testing months ago. The were also put through yoga classes, cooking workshops, ice baths, and much more!
