April 11, 2005 (Levis, Quebec) — Cycles Lambert will hold a variety of promotional activities in 2005 to celebrate and thank its many customers and suppliers who teamed up with them to make this 60-year success story possible. Established in 1945 by Charles Lambert, the company began operations as a retail store. Its particular focus on top quality service and attention to the true needs of the retail cycling industry can be traced back to its roots. A merchant at heart, Mr. Lambert quickly initiated joint purchasing with other local retailers to obtain appreciable volume discounts on their cost of goods by directly importing bike parts and accessories.
Due to the success of this segment of the business, Cycles Lambert Inc. decided to abandon all retail activities in 1984 and concentrate all company resources on distribution which lead to tremendous growth as a direct result of this decision.
In 1985, Mr. Lambert transfered the reins to his daughter Céline, who supervised the company’s administration since 1977, her husband Doris Roy who handled the company’s accounting since 1973, and Gilles Nadeau, a loyal associate since 1976. This new ownership team brought about a unified partnership between customers, manufacturers and the distributor whose objective was to offer the best cycling products from around the world to Canadian retailers.
Since then, the company has become a leader in cycling parts and accessories by highlighting the excellent value of all brands it selects to distribute. Cycles Lambert’s expertise and commitment to excellence in servicing its customers has been rewarded by being voted as the #1 Canadian distributor with respect to service for ten consecutive years (as per Jim Rennies survey).
Cycles Lambert Inc. is proud to employ over 100 dedicated people who share the same passion in meeting the needs of over 1,200 loyal customers. The company is continuing to grow rapidly as the sales, operations, administration, purchasing and marketing departments work as a team on on a daily basis to achieve this goal.
