July 2, 2008 – Three O-cup DH races and three weekends of rain so far but could that dampen the spirits, no way! In fact if anything the rain improved and helped bed in this brand new course at Heights of horseshoe. With an average time of 2:34, many riders used to the shorter courses were grabbin for oxygen masks at the bottom, however those fit riders were lovin the extra terrain. A series of flowy sections, steep chutes and off camber tight rope walking made for a super sweet course.

The ladies had some sweet times posted as they came down with Sheila Morris (cycle solutions) taking first by a hair over Kristen Courtney (poisonfrog.ca), Steph Adams (kamikaze) was a solid 3rd.

Junior Expert saw the fastest time of the day with Rob Fraser (poisonfrog.ca) just returning from representing Canada at the world championships pulling off a 2:03, his teamate JP (Poisonfrog.ca) was just behind and Robert Bailey (Commencal) slid into 3rd.

In elite men we had some new faces once again on the podium with a changing of the guard continuing to happen in O-Cup DH. Mitchell hooked up a screaming run for 1st, poor Jeff (Norco-Evolution) was less than 1/100th behind him and Harold Woolnough pulled off a killer 3rd.
