July 25, 2003 (Vancouver, BC) – Critical Mass Bike and Roll to Celebrate Forests and Ride Away from the Indy. Join dozens of fellow bicyclists, skaters, and bladers for a leisurely ride and skate through the streets of Vancouver and Stanley Park on July 25, 2003. Meet rain or shine at the Vancouver Art Gallery on the Georgia Street side between 5:00 to 5:30 p.m. Decorated bicycles, signs, costumes, noisemakers, squirt guns, and wildly modified bicycles are all highly encouraged. Come as your favorite plant or species.
Bring some food and drink for a potluck picnic at the conclusion of the ride. There will probably be opportunity to buy stuff close by, if you can't bring food along with you on the ride. Bring a towel too, as we might be close to a beach.
UBC Cyclists: Meet 4:30pm on the South SUB Plaza for a group ride down to the Vancouver Art Gallery.
East Van Cyclists: Meet 4:00pm, leaves 4:30pm, from Grandview park on Commercial Drive for a group ride down to the Vancouver Art Gallery.

The PEDALing Zoo
Calling all ye animals of the cycling community!! We are looking for participants in PEDAL's contribution to the Illuminares Festival.
This Thursday evening (about 6-7 p.m.ish), chopper decorators of all kinds will meet at Pedal Works (rear alley entrance to the Glass Onion at 1103 Union Street on the Adanac Bike Route) for some zoologically inspired bike decorating with Cara, Caitlin, Khan, and Richard. Following the decorating, we will ride to Trout Lake (technically to Jim's backyard), where the “animals” shall be caged until Illuminares on Saturday evening.
And on Saturday evening, July 26, the “Pedalling Zoo” will be unveiled. We will meet again 6:00 p.m. at Pedal Works (rear entrance to 1103 Union Street), and the group of happy animal riders shall chopper to Trout Lake. What we require are riders who like to wear costumes, and riders who like using their imagination. We need people to help create the “zoo”.
If you have decorating contributions, or would like to assist with the animalistic choppers, join us Thursday or Saturday evening.
