January 16, 2014 – In our recent story, “Top Cyclist Vincent De Haitre Likely Heading to Sochi for Speed Skating”, we mentioned two other elite cyclists who have gained prominence as speed skaters in Canada, including Clara Hughes. We incorrectly stated, however, that current U23 road champ, Elisabeth Albert, has dropped competitive skating while studying medicine. Pedal reader Hélène Simard (Elisabeth’s mom) wrote in to tell us that Albert is also still skating at an elite level and has had a good start to the 2013-14 season.
