August 01, 2013 (Saint-­Lambert, QC) – When announcing the participation of Alberto Contador at the GP Ouest France Plouay race today, Team Saxo Thinkoff sport director Philippe Mauduit stated that he would then take part in the Québec City and Montréal Grands Prix Cyclistes.

The GPCQM organization cannot confirm at this moment the official registration of Contador. The list of riders entered in the Grands Prix Cyclistes will be announced during the week of August 26.

“We are very pleased about this announcement and we can only hope that Alberto Contador, along with many riders of his stature, will be among us on September 13 and 15. I am also pleased to realize that the Grands Prix Cyclistes are becoming one of the most popular rendez-­vous among the great riders on the planet,” said Serge Arsenault, President of the Québec City and Montréal Grands Prix Cyclistes.

According to UCI rules, teams have up to 20 days prior to a race to send their entry list to the organization.
