July 8, 2010 (Montargis, France) – Alberto Contador (Esp) Astana paid a surprise visit today to his former team mate and rival, Lance Armstrong (USA) RadioShack reports AP. While riders were preparing for the fifth stage at the Tour from Epernay to Montargis, Contador climbed into the RadioShack bus and presented commemorative watches to both Armstrong and RadioShack team director, Johan Bruyneel.

In 2009, Contador and Armstrong both rode for Astana with Bruyneel directing, but there was little camaraderie between them, yet today the two rivals were exchanging compliments. Asked about his motives, a smiling Contador said simply: “To say hello.”
