July 17, 2003 – History was made at Sunday's Stage 10 of the Tour de France when CSC's Jakob Piil from Denmark crossed the line and won the stage on a Canadian-made Cervelo R2.5 bicycle – a Canadian first. The win was a relief to most of the CSC crew, after a roller-coaster start to the Tour with Tyler Hamilton's collar-breaking crash and his day-by-day status. As well, CSC and the crew at Cervelo deserve more laurels for becoming the first ever, Canadian frame to race, and win a stage at the Grand Boucle. Congratulations to everyone at Cervelo – let's hope to see many more stage wins on Canadian bikes!
