February 5, 2007 – Cycling BC is hosting 3 Commissaire Courses in Vancouver and Victoria starting February 19th! Two road courses will take place in Victoria, February 19-20 and February 26-27. A track course will take place in Vancouver, March 17.

Road – February 19-20 and 26-27 in Victoria

Cycling BC is please to announce a Road Commissaire Course to be held in Victoria BC, instructed by UCI International Commissaire Mike Shea.

The course will be held on the evenings of Monday and Tuesday February 19, 20, 26, and 27 in the PacificSport Boardroom, located at: Suite 100, 4636 Elk Lake Drive, Victoria, BC from 5:45 pm until approximately 10 pm each evening.

Course participants are asked to print and review parts 1 and 2 of the UCI Regulations (“General Organization of Cycling as a Sport”, and “Road Races”, respectively) in advance. These may be downloaded in PDF format from the rules section of the UCI web site here.

Cost is $25. Those participants who already hold a 2007 license are entitled to a free Commissaire license upon completion of the course ($57 otherwise).

Registration is available online here. The registration deadline is Wednesday, February 14 at noon.

Track – March 17 in Vancouver

Cycling BC is pleased to announce a Track Commissaire Course to be held in Vancouver, BC, instructed by UCI International Commissaire Wayne Pomario.

The intended audience for this training is for those already trained as Commissaires in a different Cycling discipline, or for club volunteers with informal track officiating experience. A more comprehensive course for new officials will be held later in the year.

The course will be held on Saturday, March 17 in Room 105 at Sport BC, located at 1367 West Broadway, from 9 am until 5:30 pm.
