June 12, 2003 – On June 14, six cyclists will depart Vancouver, B.C. riding non-stop, 24 hours per day, to arrive in Halifax, N.S. just 10 days later; a distance of 7200k. Rotating  shifts, each cyclist will be pushed to the limit pedaling 12-15 hours across  360k per day.

The ride, called Coast-to-Coast Against Cancer, seeks to raise $500,000  for two cancer charities – the Lance Armstrong Foundation and the Candlelighters Foundation. Both charities focus attention on cancer survivors, because the battle continues even after the disease is gone from  the body.

Last year the founders of the Coast-to-Coast ride, Jeff Rushton and  his friend Kevin Wallace, each rode 5,100 kms, coast to coast,  from California to Florida in just 24 days. They raised over $175,000  for two cancer charities.

These riders are six regular guys who haven taken their passion for cycling to a whole new level. The Coast to Coast team will be riding through Toronto on June 20th. This is an exciting event and a record breaking ride.
