October 28, 2012 (Vancouver, BC) – We received the following note from Richard Wooles, Cycling BC coach/High Performance Director and Cycling Canada Track Head Coach regarding his current situation. Readers may remember the news about the recent controversy regarding Wooles that we reported over the Thanksgiving weekend – read more here. We join the cycling community in thanking Wooles for his many contributions and wish him the very best in his future endeavours.
Dear All,
I am sorry to announce that effective immediately I am no longer employed by Cycling BC.
I wish to thank everyone for their generous support of the programs that we have run together, I hope these will carry on with somebody else leading. It has been a privilege to work with all of you, parents, race organizers, athletes, teams, clubs, officials, volunteers, and sponsors. Without all of your support we would not have been able to achieve so much in such a short period of time.
I’ve been in the sport for 26 years, and I’m 100% sure that I will be working within cycling in British Columbia and Canada for the years ahead. I would like to thank Cycling BC for the opportunity.
Sincerely,
Richard
