March 7, 2006 – Former President of the United States, Bill Clinton, and seven-time winner of the Tour de France, American Lance Armstrong, were in Montreal today to take part in a speaking tour concerning leadership, motivation, and personal development. The conference series, organized by The Power Within based in Toronto, also had the famous duo in Ottawa earlier this week where 4,500 people filled the Ottawa Congress Centre for this unique speaking engagement.

A somewhat ‘Beatlesque’ response welcomed Bill Clinton – the 42nd President of the U.S.A. elected in 1992 and 1996 – at the Palais de Congress in Montreal. His lecture addressed leadership and cooperation, something Clinton has recently collaborated on with another former American President, George Bush Senior.

Lance Armstrong, the 34 year-old retired pro cyclist, also brought the house down with his courageous story of battling testicular cancer throughout the 1990’s , and conquering one of the world’s most gruelling cycling races. The most decorated American cyclist to date, motivational speaking is just one of the new career avenues for Armstrong, who since last month has also become the spokesperson for American Century Investments. James Stowers, owner of ACI, is also a cancer survivor which sparked Armstrong’s involvement with the fund.

Armstrong continues to strive to support cancer research and to date, his Lance Armstrong Foundation has sold 60 million “Live Strong” yellow wrist bands.
