October 17, 2010 (Toronto, ON) – Clara Hughes, cycling and speed skating Olympic medalist, was honoured on Saturday with six others including Canadian songstress Nelly Furtado and filmmaker Sarah Polley, on Canada’s Walk of Fame. “The medals are nice souvenirs, but what inspires me is to give back and being Canadian inspires me to give back,” said Hughes, who received the evening’s loudest ovation. Other inductees included actor Eric McCormack, Blood, Sweat & Tear front man David Clayton-Thomas, the late magician Doug Henning, and conservationist and author Farley Mowat.
