April 8, 2008 (Quebec City) – Charles Dionne (Successful Living) is now out of his cast after injuring his left elbow in a bad fall at the Sequoia Cycling Classic in California on March 16, reports Media Matin. Dionne was operated on March 18 and is anxious about his recovery given that it’s an Olympic year. The 29-year-old cyclist was on his bike last Saturday, putting his left hand on the handlebars with no weight. Dionne was doing a lot of riding on a stationary bike in his basement which he said was tough now that the weather is getting nice.
He also indicated that he feels the urgency of the situation and needs to start riding a lot outdoors, trying to regain his form for the Olympic selections. The doctor is encouraged by Dionne’s x-rays, and allowed him to start physiotherapy. But, “there are no miracles in cycling,” Dionne added. He has a visit with his specialist arranged for April 22 and hopes to then get the green light for intensive training.
