Changes to Canadian Team Roster at 2010 Commonwealth Games

October 1, 2010 (Delhi, India) – Commonwealth Games Canada announced the following changes to the team list for the Delhi 2010 Commonwealth Games. Included in the changes is the withdrawal of cyclist Alison Testroete from the women’s road race due to an injury.

Wrestling
John Pineda (55 kg, Vancouver, BC) and Khetag Pliev (96 kg, Toronto, ON) withdrew due to injuries. Pending confirmation, Promise Mwenga (Fredericton, NB), who is also competing in the 55 kg Greco-roman competition, will replace Pineda in the 55 kg freestyle. Korey Jarvis (Guelph, ON) will replace Pliev in the 96 kg freestyle.

Squash
Shahier Razik (Toronto, ON) withdrew due to injury. An alternate will not be named.

Cycling
Alison Testroete (Abbotsford, BC) withdrew due to injury. An alternate will not be named.

Boxing
Colin Fish (Oshawa, ON) and Steven Rolls (Chatham, ON) were removed from the team by Boxing Canada for not attending a mandatory training camp. Alternates will not be named.

With these latest changes, Canada’s team is now made up of 251 athletes. The Commonwealth Games take place in Delhi, India from October 3 to 14. Team Canada’s goal is a Top 3 finish in the overall medal count.
