Cervélo TestTeam Welcomes Rotor Bike Components as Sponsor

October 29, 2008 (Ebikon, Switzerland) – Cervélo TestTeam is pleased to announce that Rotor Bike Components has become a sponsor of the team. Rotor Bike Components will supply both the men and women’s Cervélo TestTeams with Q-Rings (oval chainrings), Agilis Evo cranks and Sabb bottom brackets.

“We are very pleased to be part of this new project,” said Ignacio Estellés, Rotor CEO. “In signing our 2-year agreement Rotor commits to apply its engineering to developing exciting new products, technologies and manufacturing methods, to provide the Cervelo TestTeam with the most advanced cycling components.”

Product Information:

Q-Rings poised to become the next “must have” product in cycling, Q-Rings increase your power by maximizing use of the efficient zones of the pedalling stroke and by reducing the intensity of the “dead spot” zones. By maximizing the leg’s strengths and compensating for its weaknesses, they offer easier climbing, faster acceleration and a smoother pedalling, with reduced joint and tendon loadings due to better muscle strain distribution. Their revolutionary shape and well defined orientation adjustment options ensure serious race day advantages, further underlined by their multiple UCI world champion titles.

Agilis Evo cranks are an integrated crank set that include the normal innovations you have come to expect from Rotor. Agilis Evo technology incorporates hollow alloy cranks (Hollowminium II) and a micro-adjustable hollow aluminium axle (using DTT Evo – double thread technology) to prove that rigidity, fatigue resistance and efficiency aren’t just a question of how fat a crank’s arms are. Special CNC manufacturing techniques optimize the orientation of the crank’s aluminium grain structure allowing them to be hollow, light and stiff.

SABB (Self aligning bottom bracket) The Sabb’s bearings are held within ball-in-socket housings, allowing them to swivel into absolutely parallel alignment with each other, irrespective of any outside influences. This automatic self-alignment of the bearings guarantees reduced rolling resistance and longer bearing life than standard external bearing systems.
