October 22, 2008 (Ebikon, Switzerland) РRegarding the relationship between Cervelo TestTeam and Scott Sunderland please be advised that although Scott had been approached concerning the formation of the Cerv̩lo TestTeam, both parties have recently decided to go a different route.

In developing a new team from scratch it is critical to the team’s success that all the key players in the organization align, both in philosophy and approach. We have always admired his talents and capabilities and we will continue to admire Mr. Sunderland as a great sports director, but in this situation at this moment in time, we agreed it wasn’t the right combination of people.

We have discussed the situation with our key riders and team management, who support the direction both parties have chosen and look forward to a great 2009 season.

We wish Scott continued success in all his endeavors, and our hope is, by issuing this statement together with him, to provide clarity and closure on this issue.
