April 23 2007 (Toronto, ON) – Cervelo launched their new Consumer Generated Media (CGM) contest and ad campaign, based on the tag Enjoy.Cervelo, this weekend on Cyclysm Sundays (VERSUS),
The CGM contest invites Cervelo owners to send in a fifteen second video on the theme “Tell us why you enjoy your Cervelo”. Video entries will be posted online at Cervelo’s TV-channel (www.cervelo.tv) where visitors can vote on their favorite video. At the end of June, one grand prize winner will be awarded the Cervelo frameset of their choice, and a seven-day cycling tour of France, courtesy of GreatCycling.com. The winning video will also be featured as part of Cervelo’s Tour de France TV ad campaign in July on VERSUS (US) and OLN (Canada). The site will be accepting entries for upload from May 14, 2007 until June 22, 2007. Cervelo is announcing the contest now to give entrants time to produce their Enjoy.Cervelo videos. Rules, regulations and all contest details for Enjoy.Cervelo are now available at www.cervelo.com/enjoy. E-mail queries can be sent to enjoy@cervelo.com.
“We receive so many positive comments about our bikes,” said Gerard Vroomen, Cervelo co-founder. “One common thread that permeates all these messages is the love of cycling and the enjoyment our customers get out of our product. We wanted to communicate that passion and sense of fun and fulfillment and what better way than to let our customers speak for themselves.”
The CGM promotion is a natural extension of Cervelo’s efforts as it has pioneered social media programs in the bike industry since 2005. Back then Cervelo was the first bike manufacturer to utilize podcasts and vlogs to communicate the excitement of the Tour de France with co-founder Phil White’s daily reports.
Last year Cervelo was the first bike company to create its own TV-channel, populating it with vlogs and video. The content ranges from technical info and race footage to inside stories about cycling and Cervelo-equipped Team CSC, the #1 cycling team in the world. Complementing these efforts are Vroomen’s blogs (www.cervelo.com/blogs) with his unique perspective on everything from bike shows to outwitting the French police at Paris-Roubaix.
