CCA Seeks Volunteer Manager for 2009 Cyclocross World Championship Team

October 17, 2008 – The CCA is seeking a volunteer manager to lead the 2009 Cyclocross World Championship Team. The Canadian Cycling Association (CCA) is the recognized authority by the UCI (Union Cycliste International) on all aspects of cycling in Canada, including BMX, Cyclocross, Mountain Bike, Paracycling, Road and Track.

Task Description:
The Cyclocross manager is responsible for leading the 2009 Cyclocross National Team at the World Championships in Hoogerheide, Netherlands from January 26th to Febuary 2nd with administrative support from the national office. This is an athlete self funded project which will also cover the cost of the Manager’s travel, accommodation and per diem. There will be no remuneration.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience and knowledge in Cyclocross and the Canadian sport system at both the domestic and international levels. The successful candidate will have the ability to make recommendations regarding all aspects of logistics and to manage a team of junior and senior athletes during the world championships. Strong consultative, facilitation and decisionӢmaking skills are required. The ability to communicate in both official languages is a key asset.
