November 6, 2004 – The CCA board of directors held a teleconference Thursday November 4th to discuss a longer-term approach for the general management of the CCA, in light of Pierre Hutsebaut being on leave. Brett Stewart has been filling this role on an interim basis. However, it is time to find a long term solution that will provide stability for staff, volunteers and enable the CCA to move forward. The Board will therefore proceed with advertising for a Chief Operating Officer to oversee CCA operations and support the board.
A Selection Committee has been appointed from within the board. The job will be advertised at the beginning of next week with a deadline for applications near the end of November.
The board will also oversee an in-depth review and assessment of national office staff structure to determine how best to ensure CCA programs and services are appropriately supported and maximized.
Hiring a COO is timely and necessary.
Bill Kinash CCA President
