February 3, 2005 – The Canadian Cycling Association is very concerned about the possibility that the 2005 edition of the Tour de l’Abitibi may not take place.
As an event that attracts an international field, the Tour plays a fundamental role in the development of Canadian junior male road cyclists and it would be a blow to cycling in Canada if the event were to be lost.
The CCA is working with organizer Claude Pagé and the Fédération Québécoise des Sports Cyclistes to find a solution that will ensure the Tour takes place in 2005, that it maintains its international status and that will secure its future.
