Catharine Pendrel Breaks Collarbone – Will Miss 2013 MTB Nationals

by pedalmag.com
July 12, 2013 (Kamloops, BC) – According to her latest blog, former MTB Worlds champ, Catharine Pendrel, who crashed on June 23 and broke her collarbone, is out of action. She’ll miss the upcoming Canada MTB Cup in Sudbury, the 2013 MTB Nationals at Hardwood Ski and Bike near Barrie, Ont. and the World Cup in Andorra.

In her blog she writes…”At 32 I have had my first broken bone and real racing set back. I guess so many years of smooth flowing paths allows you to accept the fact that occasionally you’ll hit a rough patch. Yes I am bummed out. I covet the national title and this year would have seen as epic battle for the top step with Emily Batty and our other strong Canadian racers.”

Pendrel hopes to make an appearance at MSA in early Aug. Accoring to the MTB star, “I’m rehabbing well but need to build shoulder strength before mtn biking.” – read more here.
