Cascade Cycling Classic Stage Race (NRC)

July 11, 2003 – After 2-days of racing in the 5-day, 6-stage Cascade Cycling Classic, the cream of the crop is floating to the top in this hilly and very demanding stage race. Going in to today's (Friday, July 11) double-stage day, Navigators' Chris Wherry trails climbing sensation Tom Danielson (Saturn) by 21-seconds in the overall classification. Andy Bajadali (Ofoto/Lombardi) is in 3rd with the same time, and Jonathan Vaughters (Prime Alliance) is an additional 5-seconds in arrears.

Yesterday's 70-mile stage-2 road race contained over 6,000 feet of climbing, culminating with a steep, 7-mile climb to the “Middle Sister” of the Three Sisters Mountains. The final group of four (Wherry, Danielson, Vaughters, Bajadali) broke clear from an early attack group of 14 and powered to the finish. Today's action begins with a morning Time Trial and finishes with an evening Criterium
