January 10, 2007 – Cannondale and the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission have recalled 2007 road bikes made from aluminum and carbon, or all carbon fiber, due to possible front brake failure that can result in loss of control causing riders to fall.
No injuries have been reported and the voluntary recall affects about 700 bikes including these Cannondale models sold by Cannondale dealers from July 2006 to November 2006:
– 2007 Six 13 Team 1
– 2007 Six 13 Team 1/Compact Drive
– 2007 Synapse Carbon SL1/Compact Drive Si Crank
– 2007 Synapse Carbon SL1/Standard bottom bracket, Dura Ace Crank
Cannondale based in Bethel, Conn. requests that consumers immediately stop using these models and contact the company or an authorized Cannondale dealer to have their bike inspected or repaired.
