November 16, 2008 (London, ON) – The Forest City Velodrome is pleased to announce the CanAmQue Challenge 2008 on Nov. 29 at 7pm. The 138m indoor cycling facility will see many of Canada’s top cyclists compete against one another to see who will reach the top step of the podium.
Many riders from the province of Quebec including Canadian Junior champion, Laurie-Anne Dupont Renault , Shanie Bergeron, Jean-Michael Lachance and Lawrence Laroux have entered and will be testing their fitness against top riders from Ontario and the United States. Joe Brennan and Rob Kowel from the world famous T-Town Velodrome in Allentown Pennsylvania and Cody Brown and Nick Corbin from Detroit will be on hand for the U.S.
The local London riders have a real shot at coming to the finish and jumping on the podium with entrants like Canadian Junior Sprint Champion Allan Leparskas, 3-time Canadian silver medalist Lisa Perlmutter and University of Western Ontario’s Scott Lundy.
Spectators will have a full compliment of Olympic style races which include the Match Sprint Series. This will feature riders riding above 65 kph in a effort to out think and out duel there opponents. For the endurance racers the top 12 riders making it through the qualifying heats will do battle in the 138 lap Feature event of the night to determine the CanAmQue Challenge winner.
