September 2, 2003 (Bromont, Quebec) – This past weekend's Masters MTB Worlds held in Bromont, Quebec saw several Canadians receive medals in the downhill and x-country competition. Canada has a few new world champions: Pierre Gendron (Men 55-59), Marie-Claude Letarte (Women 30-34) and Isabelle Cantin (Le pedalier). Other highlights included Bill Hurley (West QC Wheelers) winning the bronze in the 35-39 after a tough race where Hurley was trying to defend his previous victories in this race. As well, former pro Guido Visser (Xcluziv/Pepsi) stook the bronze in the hotly contested 30-34 XC event. Following Letarte in the super-competitive 30-34 women's XC category, was Canada's Stephanie Martinex (Squire Johns/ Specialized) in second place.
