by pedalmag.com

April 18, 2010 – With three of four stages completed Sunday’s epic 160km Waitsburg RR looms large on the horizon and Canadian riders are well placed in the GC at Washington State’s annual Tour of Walla Walla. Former BMC rider Ian Mcissick (USA) is leading, followed closely by Trek Red Truck’s Nick Hamilton in second, and Total Restoration’s Jamie Sparling in third. Sparling is hoping to defend his victory at last year’s Waitsburg RR.

Other Canadian men in the top 10 include one of Trek Red Truck’s newest riders, Matt Bell, currently 6th, and Total Restoration’s Cyrus Kangarloo (formerly with H&R Block) who sits in 7th. Defending champion, and former Red Truck member Rob Britton is not in attendance this year as he is currently racing in the Sea Otter Classic with his new team Bissell Pro Cycling.

In the women’s competition Jessica Hannah (Can) Total Restoration Team is in 10th at 1:01 behind race leader Jennifer Wheeler (USA) Hagens Berman Cycling while Hannah’s teammate Leah Guloien (Can) is in 13th.
