September 18, 2009 (Schladming, Austria) – Canadian XC Junior women’s champ, Laura Bietola, will not be competing on Saturday in the Junior women’s XC race slated for 9:02am local time (3:02am EST) just after the Junior men start at 9am as they’ll all be on course at the same time. According to Canadian MTB Coach Dan Proulx, “She has a small fracture in her ankle. She won’t be able to race, but she is doing fine and will be at the venue to cheer her teammates on.” We join the cycling community in wishing Laura a speedy recovery.
