August 02, 2019 (Lima, Peru) – The Women’s Team Pursuit squad captured Canada’s second silver medal at the 2019 Pan Am Games with a best-ever ride for the NextGen crew against the USA who won gold.

Erin Attwell, Miriam Brouwer, Maggie Coles-Lyster and Laurie Jussaume set a personal best record time of 4:27.799 vs their rival’s who stopped the clock at 4:24.099 for the victory.

In the Women’s Keirin, Canadian Kelsey Mitchell, who won her First Round heat, ended up fifth in the gold medal Final 1-6 won by Colombia’s Martha Bayona with Cuba taking the silver and Mexico the bronze.

In the Men’s Sprint Canada’s Nick Wammes qualified strong in third while Joël Archambault was 12th as they both advanced to the 1/8th Final but lost their heats. The two Canucks were eliminated in the 1/8th Final Repechage.
