Police Seek Witnesses – Canadian Road Time Trial Champion Curtis Dearden Injured –

October 30, 2013 (Victoria, BC) – Canada’s 2013 Time Trial Champion, Curtis Dearden, was injured in an accident that happened while he was en route to work on Oct. 29 and Victoria Police are seeking witnesses to the incident.

According to his wife Amy’s FB page Dearden was found unconscious by a passerby and was transported to hospital…”Thanking our lucky stars he got away with a concussion and likely fracture on his scapula and some facial lacerations and a big shiner. Could have been much worse. Has no memory of what occurred and so far there are no witnesses. If anyone saw anything or knows someone who did (someone must have..it was rush hour!) please let us know as we have no clue what occurred.”

Victoria Police are looking for witnesses and have tweeted/posted the following  Witnesses Sought After Bicycle Crash  (audio version) – We need witnesses after a cyclist crash around 9:30 am today Gorge Road East just east of Washington Street occurred this morning…

VicPD officers are asking anyone who witnessed the incident to contact the CRASH team at 250-995-7288. A photo of the red and white racing bicycle is attached. The rider was wearing a black backpack.
