March 25, 2019 (Temecula, CA) – Canadian riders followed up their stellar performances at US Cup #1 in Bonelli Park as they stacked the podium again this past weekend at round #2 held in Vail, Colorado. Leandre Bouchard (Pivot Cycles – OTE) kicked off the Canuck success with a first-place result in the 12-lap Pro Men’s STXC race on Saturday.

In the Pro Women’s STXC race Haley Smith (Norco Factory Team) broke into the top five with a 4th-place finish followed by Sandra Walter (Liv Racing) in eighth. Juliette Larose Gingras (Ind) took home another win in the junior women’s event, while Vincent Thiboutot (Pivot Cycles-OTE) was also able to hit the podium with a third-place finish in the 9-lap Junior Men’s race.

The next day, B.C.-native, Carter Woods (Rocky Mountain Factory Team), took his second consecutive US Cup win of the season with a first-place result in the 4-lap Junior Men’s event. Fellow junior Canadian rider, Emilly Johnston (Pendrel Racing), also took her second silver medal of the season during the 4-lap junior women’s event. The two matched their results from the first US XC Cup in Bonelli Park, California last weekend, and look to continue their success going forward.
