February 17, 2012 – Scott/3 Rox Racing has added legendary Canadian mountain bike racer Geoff Kabush to their roster in 2012. Kabush is a 2-time Canadian Olympian, multiple World Cup podium star and the winner of the 2009 Bromont World Cup. His addition to the roster will propel SCOTT’s mountain bike program in North America.
Crank The Shield is a legendary mountain bike stage race in its’ own right, beginning in 2008 and taking a hiatus in 2011. “I spoke with Kyle Douglas of SCOTT/3 Rox Racing the other day and he is overjoyed to add Kabush to the team,” says Adam Ruppel of Chico Racing, “Having Geoff and Derek Zandstra on the Crank roster is certainly going to be great for the Eastern Canadian mountain bike scene. We are thrilled to have them participate a month after the 2012 Olympic Games and give many Ontario riders the opportunity to ride and hang out with some of the world’s best riders.”Crank The Shield presented by Kijiji.ca is a two and three day mountain bike stage race taking place in the Haliburton Highlands. Participants ride 75 – 90 km off-road per day all while enjoying the 4-star food and amazing accommodations. Crank is already 40% full of its’ 350-participant maximum!
