Canada’s Veilleux Misses 1st Place by a Hair

September 17, 2006 – Stéphane Rossetto (US Créteil), 19, won the 3rd annual Chrono de Tauxigny TT beating Canada’s David Veilleux (Garneau Optik), also 19, by 6/10ths of a second. Veilleux will compete this coming week at the 2006 UCI Road Worlds in Salzburg, Austria, Sept. 19-24. (in our original report we incorrectly stated that the Chrono de Tauxigny TT course was the same as the Road Worlds 2006 TT course and apologize for this error – ed.)

Both cyclists smoked French road champion, Dimitri Champion (Vendée U) by four seconds. Estonian terror Rein Taraamae (RO St-Amand) finished 12 seconds back, five seconds ahead of Canada’s Bradley Fairall (Symmetrics), who finished fifth at 17 seconds (Fairall is also competing for Canada at the 2006 UCI Road Worlds in Salzburg, Austria, Sept. 19-24).
