December 19, 2013 (Guápiles, Costa Rica) – The 170km second stage of the Vuelta Kolbi a Costa Rica from Limon to Guápiles came down to a sprint amongst a five-man breakaway, including Canada’s Anton Varabei (Can) 1% For The Planet. Varabei was out-sprinted by winner Jose Vega (Crc) JPS-Giant, and had to settle for second place and sits second overall. Canada’s Jean-Michel Lachance (Can) 1% For The Planet, who finished second on Stage 1, placed eighth and rolled in with the main field over five minutes behind the winning breakaway.
