December 18, 2013 (Costa Rica) – Team leader for Team 1% For The Planet, Canada’s Jean-Michel Lachance, finished second on the 134.38km Stage 1 of the Vuelta Kolbi a Costa Rica, getting into an early breakaway and powering to the finish through heavy tropical rains, only to be out-sprinted by stage winner Evgeny Kovalev (Rus) Rusvelo.
The stage took racers on a circuit from Limon to Bribri to Puerto Viejo, and back to Limon on the Caribbean coast.
