April 14, 2003 – The last stage of the Sea Otter Classic was a 160k road race that traversed the hilly terrain of the Carmel Valley. A rainy forecast added to the difficulty of the day. After countless attacks, it was Matt deCanio (Prime Alliance) who attacked on the finishing straight and held on for the two laps to take the stage win. Canada's Gord Fraser(Healthnet) won the bunch sprint for second.

In the women's race, Manon Jutras (Saturn) managed to thwart former Rona-Esker teammate Genevieve Jeanson, winning the stage alongside her Saturn teammate Lyne Bessette. Jeanson finished third.

But Jeanson took the overall G.C., another impressive victory on the heels of her Redlands Classic win last week. Canada rounded the podium with Saturn riders Lyne Bessette and Manon Jutras taking second and third, respectively. Saturn riders also took the overall G.C. in the men's race, in a near-mirror image of last week's Redlands event with Nathan O'Neill finishing ahead of Tom Danielson and Chris Horner.
