Canada’s Greg Reain Among the World\’s Best in Cyclocross

January 26, 2007 — This weekend, January 27-28, sees the 2007 Cyclocross UCI World Championships in Hooglede-Gits, Belgium. There will be heated races for the rainbow-coloured jersey in all categories.

2006 Canadian Cyclocross champ Greg Reain, a member Calyon/Litespeed road team (since Jan. 1), had many top-15 finishes at European races over the past year, and is a big hope for Canada at the 2007 Cyclocross Worlds in the elite men’s category.

“I went around the circuit four times today and it will not be easy (this weekend). There’s been a lot of rain for a few weeks and the course is very grassy and therefore difficult to take at speed or to find good traction on. I’m in good shape and I had a good race at the final UCI Cyclocross World Cup in Hoogerheide (Netherlands) last week, and therefore a difficult circuit can only be good for me,” said Reain.

His fans wish him the best of luck as Reain rubs shoulders with the best cyclocross riders in the world.
